Oh my, the amount of times during the day where I feel…something? God knows what, that makes me reach for my phone and mindlessly scroll on Instagram or Reddit until I reach the end of it.
News Flash – there’s no end to either of those. Doesn’t mean I don’t keep digging like a trusted gold miner.
But with saying that, between endless scrolling, a billion tabs open and a low level hum of constant media consumption, I started to feel a little dulled. You too?
I’m not tired or unmotivated – no, no, if anything, I want to do a lot of all the cool stuff that I see on my screen. It’s just that I spend way too much time consuming and gathering ideas, and subsequently getting overwhelmed by how hard it would be to tick off every item on the list, that I end up just not doing it. Building an endless list still counts towards breaking a record, doesn’t it?
So I am officially rebelling! And I’m hopefully taking some people with me for the ride.
DjinnCrafts is my form of saying no more to the endless hoarding of ideas.
What this blog is about?
Tiny acts of making, reading, experiencing, practicing that fit into real life and gently kick the brain back up. No hacks, no hustle, no optimisation, just slowly working through projects that make my life fuller, while at the same time, they let my brain breathe and explore and grow and fell less overstimulated.
Just thoughtful, human-scale things that help you pay attention again.
Why “DjinnCrafts”?
Djinns, in myth, are creatures of fire and air – curious, clever, sometimes mischievous, often creative. They don’t build empires; they craft moments, bargains, stories, transformations.
Djinn, in real life, is my mischievous black cat that’s right there along-side me watching instagram reels when she could live her best life fighting with the yarn I am trying to turn into a sweater.

What this blog is about:
- Books that made me YAP like hell
- Small craft projects that I take on during the week – and that you can too without turning your home into a workshop or into over-consumption core for a specific craft (looking at you colouring book hoarders)
- Overall, just a space where I share simple practices that sharpen attention and help me reconnect my hands to my mind
Each week, I’ll share one recommendation – sometimes a book, sometimes a movie, a small craft project that you can work on or a practice to help ground.
DjinnCrafts is for you if:
- You feel mentally foggy after too much content
- You miss being absorbed in something simple and real
- You want to make or read or practice without turning it into a pressure of producing
- You’re curious about living a little more deliberately, one small thing at a time
An Invitation
You don’t have to do everything. You don’t even have to do most things.
Pick one. Try it. Notice how it feels.
That’s enough.
Welcome to DjinnCrafts.
Let’s make something small – and meaningful!
